An early 19th century Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam ivory veneered sandalwood box, decorated overall with penwork views of pavilions and country houses flanked by mature trees, within broad borders of flowerheads and trailing leaves, the rectangular hinged lid enclosing an open compartment with two shelves to each side, later white cloth to base, 30.5 by 23.5 by 9cm high. Provenance: The Estate of Mr Joseph B. Hay, son of Major-General Arthur K. Hay DSO OBE - 100 years of a military family.
