A Chinese Yangqin hammered dulcimer musical instrument, late 19th/early 20th century. The exterior lacquered in black with hand painted gilt decoration depicting figural garden scenes to the cover. The instrument incorporated with carved bone bridges and decorated with two oval ivory figural landscape scenes carved with a pierced openwork ground. Long narrow draw to front for housing the hammers with two brass examples included. 75.9 cm length.
Condition report: Some wear with age. In need of restringing and bridges need to be reattached. Please also note that a self declaration has been made in relation to the ivory content. Submission reference number: J435JHUX. Registration expires when the owner of the item changes.
