Roman Imperatorial silver Denarius of Julius Caesar, military mint travelling with Caesar in North Africa 47-46 BC: Diademed hd. of Venus r. / Aeneas advancing l. carrying palladium and Anchises on shoulder, CAESAR downwards to right. Crawford 458/1; RSC 12. 3.70g. VF, reverse off-centre. This coin depicts the scene from Virgil's Aeneid where Aeneas carries his father from the destroyed city of Troy.
