Hugó Scheiber was a Hungarian painter of modernity. He turned away from impressionism early on and expressionism. He came to Vienna with the friend Béla Kádár in 1919 and 1921. About the Hungarian artist in Vienna, including the friend of the friend and painter Lajos Kassák, Scheiber established himself in the avant -garde artist. Herwarth Walden became aware of Scheiber via Kassák. From 1924, Walden regularly published Scheibers in the magazine "Der Sturm" and listed him as an artist in the Sturm gallery. From 1924 to 1930 he had nine exhibitions, including With Kádár, Adolf Küthe, László Moholy-Nagy, Oskar Nerlinger, Boriska Polgar, Kurt Schwitters and Arnold Topp. Scheiber's pictures were shown in 1926 at the "International Exhibition of Modern Art" of the "Société Anonymous" in the Brooklyn Museum, New York. In addition to Scheiber, the Hungarian representatives included his storm colleagues László Moholy-Nagy, Béla Kádár and Peri. Other well -known artists were Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Pablo Picasso, Johannes Itten, Marcel and Suzanne Duchamp. In 1930 an exhibition at the Vienna Hagenbund and the invitation of the writer Filippo Tommaso Marinetti in 1933 followed the exhibition Mostra Nazionale d’Arte in Rome. In 1937, Scheiber's Nazi campaign "Degrees" Drawing "Portrait Dr. Luther" from the Museum Folkwang Essen was confiscated and destroyed. Scheiber was u. very appreciated by the French composer Paul Arma.
