The XK8 was launched in 1996 to replace the XJ-S. Two body styles were produced - a coupé and a convertible. The car was the first in the Jaguar line-up to use Jaguar's newly developed V8 engine - the AJ-V8. In 1999 the supercharged XKR was added to the range. The XKR featured 370 supercharged horsepower, a subtle rear spoiler, wire mesh front grille, and red exterior emblems.
This is a Jaguar XKR Convertible with Brembo brakes and refurbished BBS Detroit wheels. The car has a full stainless steel exhaust system. It also has a very good documented history, including an invoice from a Jaguar specialist for the vital timing chain tensioner replacement. There are many other Invoices, old MOT's, and the service book. Instrument cluster change in 2005 by Reg Vardy Jaguar, which is fully documented. Recent expenditure on "V" mounts to address the common corrosion areas.
XKRs are in a different performance league to the "ordinary" XK8. This car drives very well and is a fantastic looking car, and represents extremely good value at its very realistic reserve.
