A box of British and foreign coins mostly 20th century but there are some later and a number of earlier pieces, some collectable – all in mixed grades. This lot comprises 16 various non-precious metal UK crowns and a cased crown, and examples of various foreign coins in small bags, including:
* old UK decimal
* UK cupro-nickel 1946-67
* a bag of UK copper from the 1790s to 1850s, such as 1797 cartwheel pennies, a low-grade 1844 half-farthing, an 1854 penny and a lovely 1822 farthing in extremely fine
* our 3rd photo shows some Chinese/Japanese coins, and, to the right of the image, some Lauer play money and token
* an 1889 0.903 silver Mexican 8 Reales plus some of the other silver foreign and UK coins (4th photo)
* pre-decimal pennies from some of the less common years – 1950, 1951 and 1953 x 3 (see photo)
* some of the more interesting coins in the other bags, including a Roman one (see photos to see both the obverse and reverses).
Some of the bagged coins, including the USA, are still legal currency.
