Two Japanese Arita porcelain barbers bowls, 17th century, depicting a dignitary with an attendant holding a sunshade, greeting a traveller before a large building, the trellis border with rui style panels, two pierced suspension holes to the foot rim, the second example in typical Imari palette, decorated with a willow tree and flowers, the border with fanciful birds and flowers, heightened with gilding, with two pierced suspension holes, 27.3cm & 26.5cm diameter respectively,

The first example with interior rim fritting, with a failed attempt to restore it. A large chip to the foot rim. Both with large restored breaks.
