An album containing a collection of portrait prints depicting famous artists from the pre-Renaissance up to the Pre-Raphaelites, each pasted in and hand inscribed with name and dates, many also with an initial for the city or country the artist worked in (R=Rome, V=Venice, D=Dutch etc.), together with THE BOOK OF CRESTS 7 MONOGRAMS, an album containing numerous pasted in crests on hand-titled pages (2) (at fault)
Portrait album: Binding lacking spine. Extensive shelf wear to front and back boards. The top brass mount is lacking the catch lug. Pages show age-related darkening and foxing, extending on to the prints in some cases. Thirteen of the portrait prints are taken from photographs (but are not original photographic prints).
Crest album: Losses and tears to top and bottom of spine, shelf wear to front and back boards resulting in loss of gilt detail. There is no indication of the source of the crests. The album contains several hundred crests.
