Gardner family group with:
1. Father's 1914-15 Star trio to 10611 Pte F.W. Gardner Leic R. minor edge bruises, about very fine. With copied MIC and Star roll, Frederick Gardner landed France with 6th Bn 29/7/15. Later served with R Fus, North Staffs and Labour Corps.
2. Son's 1939-1945, Air Crew Europe Stars, Defence Medal and BWM attributed to 657746 Sgt Leslie Gardner R.A.F. nearly mint. Sold with Air Ministry box of issue addressed to Mr F.W. Gardner, 53 Oldknow Rd, Small Heath.
Leslie Gardner was killed in action on 24th August 1943 while flying as an air gunner with 619 Sqn when their Lancaster crashed 300 metres off the beach at Surendorf and is buried in Kiel War Cemetery. With copied newspaper extract "Gardner-Leslie R.A.F. reported killed over enemy territory. Dearly missed by father, brothers, sister etc, Oldknow Road, Birmingham." (See photo) (R)
