A West London Extension Railway key-wound pocket watch, with English fusee lever movement, by John Walker 69 Cornhill and 230 Regent Street, London, the enamel face marked with the company initials W.L.E.R. 1 and with the makers details. The back of the case is engraved W.L.E.R. No 1, though this is a little worn from use. A rare watch, in running order, probably dating from the opening of the line in the early 1860s. The line ran from Kensington to Clapham Junction and was owned by the GWR, LNWR, LSWR and LBSCR. (Postage Band: C)
