An Edmé Samson & Cie porcelain figure, of Le Médecin, from the play by Molière, the proud doctor stands wearing a black periwig and consulting his watch, fashionably attired with a ribbon-tied cravat and yellow ribbon-tied shoes, picked out in polychrome, gilt scroll base, 18cm high, crossed batons over S in underglaze blue, inscribed in red script, impressed model numbers 185 and 2, c. 1880; another similar, Précieuse, dressed in the Spanish fashion, 19.5cm high, inscribed in red script, impressed model numbers 129 and 15, c.1890; a 19th century Continental porcelain figure, of a grape gatherer, emblematic of Summer, dressed in the ancien régime manner, picked out in colourful polychrome, square base with gilt band, 11.5cm high (3)
