A 1961 Velocette Venom, registration number 836 PKM, engine number VM5291, frame number RS4349C black. Introduced in 1956 the Venom would remain available until 1971. They are beautifully engineered bikes and represent the very best of the British sports single tradition matching anything offered by its contemporary competition. This example was originally supplied through an Exeter dealer and has remained in the area ever since. The Venom was restored by the previous owner between 2002 and 2004 with receipts on file for parts and works carried out. At the time the recorded mileage was recorded at 48083 miles and the current odometer reading is just over 50000 miles. The Venom features its original alloy wheel rims and is fitted with aluminium mudguards front and rear. On inspection to take the catalogue images the motorcycle started with a little persuasion as they always do and sounded healthy. The Velocette will be offered for auction with a history file containing receipts, previous MOTs, manuals and detailed notes on the rebuilt engine set up. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations
