A substantial 17th century style continental bronze pestle & mortar, the mortar of flared circular form with two handles in the form of Daphnis the shepherd, the central band decorated in relief with two masks of the Greek god Pan and classical swags, titled 'MDC XXX' (1630) a very good late 19th century two section cast bronze copy. Excellent condition.
