A Chinese white jade tiger and dragon plaque, 18th/19th century one side carved in low relief with a tiger, the other with an archaistic dragon, the stone with some occasional paler inclusions and a pale russet vein,
Provenance- from the collection of the vendors late father who collected Chinese works of art in Hong Kong from 1950 to the 1970s. He lived in Shanghai from 1947-48 and became a successful businessman living and working in Hong Kong from 1949 until his death in 1994. 5.1 cm wide, wood stand
Some small natural pale inclusions to the stone, a fine russet vein to the stone on the lower part of the carving. In good condition with no restoration, chips or cracks.
