Two early Victorian Welsh wool samplers, by The Davies sisters, Carmarthen. The first by Elizabeth, aged 9, dated May 30 1842, with a verse and within a border of trailing strawberries, 33X41cm, the second worked by Margaret aged 7 and dated September the 5th 1842, similarly worked and incorporating a house, 39X33cm (2).
