Three large c 1890’s fans, all on black wood, the first with a deep border of painted butterflies, fine fold leaves below, embroidered with sequins, the monture incised and gilded, guard approx. 35cm; a similar fan with black gauze leaf, flowers, moths and a smattering of coloured sequins, the upper edge deeply scalloped with the addition of black machine lace, guard approx. 35cm; and a third fan, the black gauze bordered with black machine lace, the centre with further lace scattered with coloured sequins, guard approx. 35cm (3)

More Information

The central fold on the first fan is just starting to split. The second fan has a few pinholes in the gauze. The final fan has small splits in the gauze which are prevented from splitting further by the lace panels.
