Death Plaque for Captain Robert James Bannatyne Heard 1st Bn Lanc Fus. Died of Wounds 4/5/1915. Born Hackney. Buried Alexandria (Chatby) Military Cemetery. Parents lived Caterham Rectory, Caterham, Surrey. On 25th April the 1st Bn landed at W Beach on the Gallipoli Peninsular, six VC's were awarded to the Bn for this action and it was during this attack that Capt Heard was Wounded, later succumbing to his wounds on 4/5/1915.
