R.M.S. TITANIC: Early 20th century brass telescope engraved H.M.S. Conway J.P. Moody 1902. James Paul Moody was Titanic's Sixth Officer, aged 24, at the time of the sinking. He was last seen on top of the officer's quarters helping to launch collapsible lifeboat A. Sixth Officer Moody joined the Navy training vessel H.M.S. Conway as a cadet in 1902. His two years on board counted as one year's sea time towards his Board of Trade Second Mate Certificate. This telescope was his personal property at this time. 34ins. extended.
