Star Lot: An original Reiner Karge (German b.1944-d.1995) oil on linen canvas painting. Featuring a Satyr figure figure in a highly Neo-Expressionist landscape. Rendered in a strong graphic palette of yellow, pink and green. Signed Karge bottom right and housed in a lacquered off white and gilt frame. Karge sells well at auction with works fetching into the mid hundreds. MM 74cm x 104cm including frame.
Karge's style is associated with Neo-Expressionism. During his lifetime he had exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, Monaco, Cannes, Nice, Bologna, Sanremo, Bordighera and Capo d'Orlando.
