Rare 1788 Pattern Cavalry Officer's Sword
35 1/2 inch, single edged, curved blade with wide and narrow fullers. Engraved crossed lances, floral sprays and horseman. The forte with British Ordnance stamp. Back edge engraved "R Solingen". Steel crossguard with double, narrow langets, D shape knuckle bow, plain pommel and backstrap. Ribbed wooden grip. Contained in its steel scabbard with leather panels. Two loose hanging rings. Steel now with blackened, dark patina.
