Enlisted on 9th December 1913 into 2nd/5th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment, Territorial Force. Landed in India on 9th October 1914. Arrived in France on 23rd May 1916. Transferred on 1st July 1916 to 2nd/8th Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Attached to 2nd Life Guards on 26th December 1916. Transferred on 17 th September 1917 to 788 th Area Employment Company, Labour Corps. Discharged 12th April 1919.
