C.S. MACKAY-BENNETT: Rare pair of Commercial Cable Company egg cups acquired by Francis Richard Attwood who served on board as a Cable Foreman. Interestingly, Richard spent time living on board when she was a storage hulk. He was seriously injured when she was bombed during a Luftwaffe raid on Plymouth in 1941. Provenance via direct descent with letter from his grandson and a copy of a photograph of him as Chief Officer on board the C.S. George Ward. NB Both cups are A/F. 2ins.
