A Pre-Angkor, Phnom Da style sandstone head of Vishnu, Khmer Empire, 7th century AD, the serene face with a V-shaped, ridged brow above almond eyes with incised pupils, a broad nose and subtly smiling lips, the elongated earlobes with earrings, the hair in a cylindrical chignon, 14¼in. (36.25cm.) high, mounted on a modern bronze lacquered stand.
