Two Japanese Jumonji Yari heads, one with broad blades of shallow diamond section, the other of stout narrow diamond section; also 27 other yari heads, comprising 12 of long narrow shallow triangular section, several having red lacquered grooves; 2 of short leaf shaped shallow triangular sections; 3 short shallow diamond section; 2 short stout triangular section with a groove on each face; 8 very small leaf shaped of shallow diamond section, several having visible engraved characters; and an almost flat leaf shaped arrow head. The first two GC, the others mostly having surface rust, a few more heavily rusted, 5 heavily corroded; all but two mounted in approximately 6” lengths of their original red or black lacquered hafts, all bearing a gold mon (on several the lacquer is cracked or peeling). On some of those where the head is removable from the haft a signature is visible on the tang; some of the tangs have been cut short. See inside back cover for a selection £2,500-2,750
