An officer’s double barrelled side by side 24 bore percussion holster pistol by John Blissett, London, c 1850, 12½” overall, browned twist barrels 7”, with fern tip border around muzzles, two gold lines at breech, and engraved “John Blissett, 321 High Holborn, London, Maker to HRH the Duke of Sussex”; signed scroll engraved back action locks with safety bolts; walnut half stock with German silver barrel wedge plates and escutcheon, steel mounts including domed steel butt cap with trap, and with swivel ramrod. Very Good Working Order and Condition, barrels retaining virtually all original browned finish, the locks and mounts crisp with much original finish. Plate 13
