A ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL SUBMARINER 100M- 330FT "JAMES BOND" STAINLESS STEEL GENTLEMAN'S WRISTWATCH. model ref. 6536-1, case no. 155XXX, circa 1956, the signed gloss black dial with roundel, rectangular and triangular markers, Mercedes hands and white painted seconds hand, the bi-directional rotating bezel with black calibrated insert, the case with no crown guards and small crown, the case 37mm on a Rolex oyster rivet link bracelet numbered 7206 and with end links numbered 15

Note- The Rolex Submariner Ref.6536-1 is one of the earlier Submariner references that was only produced for a short period whilst Rolex were perfecting the model. It went through numerous alterations before arriving at the noteworthy references 5512 and 5513, produced from 1959 and 1962 respectively.

The popularity of pre-crown guard Submariners has surged in recent years, thanks in no small part to their presence in the James Bond films 'Dr. No' and 'Goldfinger'.
