Darwin, Southsea, an 18ct gold chronograph gold pocket watch the dial numbered 71845 and having black Roman numerals, brass spade hands and a sweep chronograph hand set from the side of the case, the three-quarter plate movement having an engraved balance cock to the lever escapement with repeat serial number and engraved with the trademark of the Coventry Watch Co, the case hallmarked within for 18ct gold, Birmingham 1880 along with the case makers initials JR for Rotherham & Sons, the inner cuvee also hallmarked and engraved with the name S.B. Darwin, Southsea, diameter 55mm, gross weight c.164.55gs.
