A Victorian Ceylon Light Infantry Volunteers Officer's Sword, retailer's mark for Hobson & Sons, London. the straight single edged fullered blade with acid etched militaria decoration ,marked as per title to one side and with crown and 'VR' cipher to the other, over a gilt brass openwork half basket hilt with single quillon and decorated en suite, wire bound grip (lacking fish skin) and oval pommel with gilt bullion loop, in a brass scabbard with double suspension loops, blade length 87cm
