Square piano by George Astor, circa 1800, the mahogany case with satinwood and ebony stringing and cable banding, the satinwood fascia board inscribed New Patent Geo. Astor, N0 79 Cornhill London, the five octave  keyboard, FF to f3, with ivory naturals and ebony accidentals, single action with overdampers, two hand levers controlling the damper-lift above and below c, raised on a stand with boxwood stringing and four square tapering legs terminating in brass caps and castors, 62.5" wide, 22.25" deep (at fault)
