Lancashire Fusiliers attributed Victorian Officers Levee Pattern Sword. A good example with a 3/4 inch wide 32 inch blade, with etched decoration of a crowned VR cypher and tittle LANCASHIRE FUSILIERS Also initials. The forte with the retailer's details of Stone Edward of London, 100616 serial number on the spine. The hilt of the regulation pattern with shagreen grip and housed in metal scabbard. Etching clear GC. Attributed to Sir Morgan George Crofton, 6th Baronet of Mohill Castle, Co. Leitrim, Ireland. (27.11.1879-8.12.1958). whilst seving as a 2nd Lieutenant, 2nd Bn. Lancashire Fusiliers in 1899. Served in South Africa 1899-1901.
