A RARE MID-19TH CENTURY CHINESE SILVER MUG

mark of Hou Cheong, Canton, of tapering cylindrical form with moulded rims, the handle formed as a dragon, the body with chased decoration of figural scenes of warriors on horseback, with various animals, including dogs, monkeys, and a stork, the front with an oval cartouche engraved with contemporary initials MAB, double-skinned interior, gilt interior, marked underneath with pseudo hallmarks. 12cm high, 11.1 troy ounces
