PROVENANCE: The picture is believed to have been acquired in the late 1930's. Cleaned by Manchester City Art Gallery approximately 1990.

More Information

The paint surface shows fine craquelure throughout. Examination under UV reveals evidence of minor re-touching. The frame is structurally sound but shows age-related cracks to the moulded details and some areas of overpainting to the gilt finish.
