A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY PAIR TO THE ROYAL SCOTS. A Great War Pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 3734 Pte J. Weston R. Scots. James Weston was the son Mr and Mrs John Weston of 10 Craigbrook Place, Blackhall, Edinburgh, he served with the 9th (Highlanders) Battalion of the Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment), he also had number 351217, he was killed in action on the 23rd October 1918 and is buried at Guignies Communal Cemetery in Belgium, he was 20 years old. James Weston's is one of only five Commonwealth War Graves at this cemetery, one of the others being a fellow Royal Scot who died on the same day, the other three men dying a few days either side of the 23rd October. *CR slightly polished surfaces.
