** LEEK (STAFFS.) - "LE BAGOT" PAROLE P.O.W. LETTER ENDORSED "Single Not Paid. Chas. Grey Agent" BY CENSOR; Fine 1 Aug. 1813 EL (wafer seal; damp stain just affects top of address-panel) from POW "Le. Bagot" on parole in "Leek" to a friend in Nantes boldly endorsed in red "Single. Not Paid" and "Chas. Grey Agent" [the Transport Office Agent and censor for Leek Parole POWs]. It was then charged "6" (decimes) on delivery, having been routed via London and Morlaix. He complains that he has not had a reply to his letters for two years and notes that the Transport Office has not even replied to his latest request for an exchange, and refers to a possible exchange with an officer who had been at the Siege of Cadiz.
