LARGE KANGANAMAN WOVEN DANCE MASK, MIDDLE SEPIK, PAPUA NEW GUINEA. Woven plant fibre and natural pigments. An enormous woven dance mask, known as a “tumbuan”, made of rattan fibre with two faces, one on the chest, and one on the head, both with distinctive hooked noses.This two-headed style is specific to Kanganaman village.
