A 19th century brass miners dial by the Elliot Brothers. London. The circular silvered dial with makers mark twin fold sighting arms, two bubble levels, ball and socket clamp and other brass accessories in a mahogany stow case, length 31.5cm. The bezel is loose and the brass cover may be a replacement, the compass needles is fixed in position and does no move freely, the brass has been polished throughout.
