A bronzed composite sculpture of an ape entitled ‘Affe mit Schädel’ after Wolfgang Hugo Rheinhold (1853-1900). Depicting a pensive ape studying a human skull with callipers held by one foot as he sits on a pile of books with one inscribed 'Darwin’. Signed ‘Rheinhold’ to the base as illustrated. 31.5 cm approximate height.
