An original manuscript letter, signed by William Makepeace Thackeray, undated, to his Aunt (Harriet Belcher), letter excerpt "Mr Carmichael has just been here with a letter from my mother for Smyth is dangerously ill and she is in such an anxiety that I must go back and comfort her", 13.5cm x 20cm approx., loose in card mount. Thackeray was a novelist, author, poet and illustrator.
