A late Victorian Bowie knife, by G Wostenholm, the heavy clipped back blade 9½” marked “G. WOSTENHOLM & SON, WASHINGTON WORKS”, eagle mark, “I*XL”, “The Real I*XL knife” in banner, and “THE HUNTERS COMPANION”, the ricasso marked “G. WOSTENHOLM & SON, WASHINGTON WORKS” and “None are Genuine but those marked I*XL”; staghorn hilt with polished steel pommel cap, ferrule, and cross guard with disc finials, in its later custom made tooled red leather sheath with white metal chape and locket.
