Star Lot: A striking antique original oil painting originating from the Dutch school and dating to the 19th/18th century. Features a portrait study of an older learned gentleman leaning thoughtfully toward the viewer boasting a large red cap and finely rendered lace sleeves. Painted in the deep chiaroscuro made famous by the Dutch old masters. Housed in an antique chippendale style frame. MM: 21x22cm No signature visible but if it can be attributed could be very valuable.
