German Third Reich attributed Iron Cross and War Merit Cross. Good 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class, suspension ring number 22 (unusual maker Börger & Co., Berlin) and 1939 War Merit Cross with Swords together with a letter from Der Kommandeur des Infantrie=Regiments 7 dated 1 Marz 1939 to Leutnant Erich Dies congratulating him for his work with an anti-tank gun and another letter from the the Burermister (mayor) of Andernach congratulating his father on his commendation from the Commander-in-Chief VIII Army Corps. Letters with file marks. ... period paper clipping regarding Leutnant Erich Dies and a WW2 head and shoulder portrait photograph of him in uniform with inscription on reverse dated 1963. (6 items) Attribution by vendor. Her father was given these item by Dies father, who ran a hotel he was staying at in 1963.
