A COLLECTION OF SUGAR TONGS, various dates, most decorated with bright cut decorations. (i) A bright cut decorated tongs with maker’s mark for Peter, Ann & William Bateman. Hallmarks of a king’s head, lion and date letter of ‘I’, city mark not present. 13.5cm long, (ii) A bright cut decorated tongs, with initials MD to the curve, an old mend to the curve also, 13cm long. (iii) A bright cut decorated tongs, kings head & lion mark to the interior, maker’s initials rubbed, no date or city mark. 13.5cm long, (iv) A small Sheffield silver tongs by Thomas Bradbury & Sons Ltd. Date letter for 1913, 10cm long. (v) A Sheffield silver tongs, small in size, nice, engraved design to the stem, date letter for 1910. Maker’s initials JR for Joseph Rodgers and Son. (vi) 1888 Sheffield hallmarked small sugar tongs, Maker’s mark present, unclear. (6)
