A set of eight Coalport side plates, circa 1898-1908 each individually painted with ruined landscapes by Arthur Perry, artist signed, cobalt and gilt borders, printed factory marks in green, painted 'C2683' in iron red, 17cm diameter; sold together with a further pair of Coalport plates, printed with views of Conway and Kenilworth Castles after P. Simpson, retailed by Harrods, 22cm diameter (10) Notes: Arthur Perry trained at the Hanley School of Art and was awarded medals of excellence for his work. He started his apprenticeship under his father's friend, William Birbeck, and completed it under Charles Brayford Bough. He also worked for the Copeland and Royal Doulton factories.
