A group of six medals representing service with the Black Watch in the First World War and with the Royal Artillery (Territorial) in the Second World War. Consisting of:
1914 Star with clasp (this a contemporary tailor’s copy) named to: 572 Pte J Cobban 2/R Highrs, British War Medal and Victory Medal named to: 1572 Pte J Cobban R
Highrs, Defence and War Medals 1939-1945 and Efficiency Medal (Territorial) (GRI first type) named to: 2744408 Sjt J Cobban RA. J1572 Pte John Cobban was from Linlithgow, West Lothian. He served with the 2nd Battalion The Royal Highlanders (The Black Watch) from 12/10/1914 - 04/12/1915 and in Egypt 31/12/1915 - 13/11/1917. He Transferred to The MMP on 01/10/1916.
The regimental number on the TEM is a Black Watch number which indicates that he
served with the Black Watch until at least 1920, before transferring to the Royal
Artillery. With copy Medal Index Card. The group mounted for display on rather distressed
ribbons, but otherwise Very Fine (VF) condition.
