An impressive Gothic revival Victorian clock, the silvered circular dial having gilt brass Gothic Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, the centre engraved with stylised foliage having nine chimes, the original brass covered weights suspended on pulleys of six crossings, the pendulum having cylindrical rod and bob, an anchor escapement, substantial plates united by heavy turned pillars - striking the hour on a long tubular gong and offering a choice of Westminster or Whittington on a further run of 8 graduated tubes via a lever at 3 o’clock. The impressive case having four turrets to the hood above the long columns embellished with Gothic tracery, the glazed arched door carved with roundels above a carved panel depicting shields and grape and vine motifs, 61cm wide by 43cm deep by 275cm tall
