A George III inlaid mahogany brass dial longcase clock The dial signed Thomas Pierce, Bristol The hood with arched top and 3/4 turned columns, the case with arched door inlaid with star patera above an inlaid base box on plinth foot, the 11 3/4in brass arched dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter, subsidiary seconds dial below 12, engraved calendar aperture above 6, scroll and rocaille spandrels, the arch with engraved silvered boss having an armorial bird and motto Tempus Fugit between dolphin spandrels, the eight day movement with four knopped pillars striking on a bell. With two weights, pendulum and winder. 52.5cm wide x 25.5cm deep x 230cm high
