DUTCH DECANTER. 8.5ins tall. A quite spectacular and impressive, sharply pontilled Dutch or Belgian striking bright amethyst glass decanter. Decorated with eight crude hand applied pincered ribs, c.1720-1750. A similar bottle (assigned to the Li�ge area) is illustrated in Antique Glass Bottles by Willy Van den Bossche (plate 68). An example is held by the Rijksmuseum illustrated in Glass in the Rijksmuseum, vol II, p424. such a pretty and attractive rarity in an attractive glass colour. Exc/A1.
