Three small brisé fans, two from the 19th century, the first, produced by Goodall, with six wide panels embossed in gold and entitled “A tribute of unchanging affection”, featuring flowers, each with a suitable poem by such Greats as Coleridge, Wordsworth and Shakespeare, fitted with a loop and slender silk tassel, guard approx. 12.5 cm; a smaller fan of a similar theme but written in German, the text seemingly relating to the flowers, such as the Rose, fitted with a tassel, marked “Herzlichen Gluckwunsch”, meaning “Congratulations”, or perhaps” Happy Birthday “,guard approx. 8cm; a V&A museum reproduction calendar from 1875, double -sided to contain the twelve months on six panels, guard approx. 12cm
The first fan is damaged at the head.
