Obverse: filleted head of the young Queen by William Wyon with 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA' around and date below (1844). Reverse: shield of royal arms with crown above and wreath around, 'BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:'. Edge: inscribed with incuse lettering and cinquefoil stops, 'DECUS ET TUTAMEN * ANNO REGNI VIII *'. Mintage: 159,100. Composition: 925 silver. Weight: 28.06g. Diameter: 38.6mm.
