An early 20th century tortoiseshell and gold mounted trinket box, the oval box with half hinged cover inlayed with cameo depicting gentleman facing sinister within oval yellow metal mount, above applied plaque with lettering 'honestum praetulit utili' (he has preferred honesty to advantage) 8.5cm long (at fault)

Areas of loss to top of box as shown in images.
Lid to box is no longer connected to body, will need repair work as hinge is missing pieces.
Cameo to centre who no major areas of loss, yet appears to have 'sunk' into the box, doesn't sit flat.
Oval banding of yellow metal with areas of loss.
Nibbles to interior of the box to edges.
Scratches, blemishes and general areas of wear to base, interior and edges.
Scratches and surface blemishes to yellow metal.
Split to top of box running the length of box.
Discolouration seen throughout, would benefit from a clean.
